<Parasite>는 미이데아섬과 원주민, 그리고 그들에게 전해져 내려온 예언을 다룬 비디오이다. 비디오에서 원주민은 알 수 없는 괴수에게 저항하며 그들만의 방식으로 살아가기를 원하지만 생각처럼 쉽지 않게 느껴진다. 동시대 매체 환경에서 인간은 어떻게 적응하며 인간다운 삶을 영위할 수 있는지에 대한 작업이다.
‘경계한다. 끊임없이 의심한다. 격렬히 저항한다. 달리고 달려 도망친다.’
그것만으로 충분한가.
<Parasite> is a video of prophecies handed down to the island of Midea and the natives. In the video, the natives want to live in their own way, resisting an unknown monster, but it doesn't feel as easy as they think. It is a work on how humans can adapt and lead human-like lives in a contemporary media environment.
‘Be alert. constantly doubt. resist violently. run and run and run.’
Is that enough?
